In 1983 Mark Macy started a full service security company in Ottawa, Ontario. Providing government, commercial and industrial clients with guard, consulting, surveillance and alarm services, he has remained at the forefront of technology and procedural reform.

To improve security effectiveness, client satisfaction and staff efficiency, Macy instituted DOS-based control software in the late 1980s. The system, revolutionary at the time, utilized a Wide Area Network enabling sites to log-on. The platform progressed over the years to HTML-based and a Virtual Private Network and now GuardSuite™ employs Flash-based Flex programming for quick computing and robust security. The tool has evolved as well to a comprehensive suite of software solutions for site operations.
